Exporting Data
The data export feature can be used to write information from your
database to a file. Currently, you can export data to a text format
(which can be read by many word processing applications such as
"Notepad" or "Microsoft Word") or a comma-delimited format (useful
for importing data to "Microsoft Excel" and similar spreadsheet applications).
You can also export data to a file to format the information yourself
and print the results.
TopicsExporting Data to a FileExporting Data to a FileTo export data to a file, choose "File" in the main menu-bar and then select "Export." This will bring up a window where you can select the information you wish to export along with the format used to save the data. The data will appear exactly as you see it in the appropriate tab. For instance, if you want to save your transactions from the "Transactions" tab for April sorted by increasing amount, use the "View" and "Sort" menu options to select the "Monthly" view and sort by "Amount," then select "April" in the notebook under the "Transactions" window. Then select "Transactions" in the export window and select the format option and then "Export." This will bring up another window for you to choose a path and file name for the exported data file. Select a file name (or type one in) and select "Save," and the information will be saved to the file indicated. Back to Top Back to Topics |
